Welcome: An Introduction

Hello,
For over a decade, the three of us, Gregg Turkington, Mark Proksch, and Tim Heidecker, have shared a private text thread that’s brought us more laughter than just about anything else. It’s rarely been quiet for more than a few days, and at last count, it had grown to over 1,000 pages.
Just a heads up, this text thread exists in a scenario in which we play three dysfunctional friends caught in a loop of delusion, bad ideas, and emotional meltdowns. It’s part of an ongoing character bit, not a reflection of our actual personalities or relationships. We’re actually very good friends in real life!
In 2020, we self-published a free e-book called Marion’s Wish, a short story adapted from one of these threads. These exchanges are usually written in spare moments, on set, at the airport, or stuck in traffic. A week or two might pass and then another bit of drama, or opportunity for Mark arises and the thread becomes active again.
Marion’s Wish did well enough that we started looking for other ways to share these stories, but the sheer volume of material made the idea of compiling it all at once overwhelming. So, we landed on a simpler strategy: releasing weekly installments from the archive in smaller, manageable bites.
Please keep in mind, these texts were always intended to be private. They are, in general, crude, chaotic, NSFW, and often "cross the line" of good taste and common decency. We hope you approach reading these with that in mind, and it was all done "in character" with a sense of freedom to get very dark without anyone judging us too harshly.
Later this week, we'll publish the original "Marion's Wish" from 2020 to kick things off. After that, the plan is: 4 installments from us each month for the price of five dollars. We’re also hoping this becomes a space for us to collaborate on other projects outside of On Cinema. (These are not the Gregg, Mark and Tim from On Cinema!) Either way, we’re excited to finally share this long-running, deeply stupid saga that we’ve privately cherished for years.
Enjoy, Gregg, Mark, and Tim
